After a long wait, the developers finally announced the release date of the upcoming Shadowlands expansion during the gamescom opening livestream. This means we already know exactly when we can start our journey into the Shadowlands. The subsequent dates have also been set. We know when the first raid will open or when the PVP and Mythic-Plus season will start. What we don't know yet, however, is the date when the pre-patch will hit the live servers. This might not be that important for some players, but for others it's interesting to know. Because with the pre-patch not only the introduction event for Shadowlands starts, but also all class adjustments become active. In addition, Blizzard turns off the corruption effects and most likely gives the current raid bosses a fat nerf. In addition, we get, for example, the level and item squish, the AH mount disappears for the time being and the new character appearance options become active. For many players, the expansion actually starts with the pre-patch. But when will it actually be released? The developers are still keeping quiet about it. However, there are a few hints that give us a good idea of when the patch is coming.

When is the pre-patch for Shadowlands coming?
To find out, we have to look at what we already know for sure

.
  • The content of the pre-patch is designed for several weeks, the first two of which have already been tested.
  • The legendary cape will reach its maximum level on September 9.
  • The final short in the Afterlife series for Shadowlands will be released on September 17.
  • Most of the pre-patches ran for about a month, although there have been significantly shorter ones.

Taking all this info together and assuming that the developers still want to let players play a bit with a fully expanded cape and also want to release all the shorts before the pre-patch, September 23 or 29 would be a good release date for the pre-patch. We would rather put our gold on 9/23 in this case, so that the hype of the final short can be carried along. However, even if Blizzard has planned it that way, things can still change at short notice. After all, Shadowlands is still in beta

.

What do you think when the pre-patch will be released? And do you also think that this is all happening pretty fast now and somehow feels a little bit rushed?
