Players who were affected by the first BC Classic ban wave were lucky again, as they get to experience the launch of The Burning Crusade tonight (2.6.21). Players caught in the latest ban wave will have to sit out eight days starting today and will miss the launch of the BC Classic servers.

Both cases involved standing around AFK on the battlefield and, in some cases, colluding in PvP to grab honor, badges, and PvP gear just before the expansion's release. The pre-patch gives players significantly more honor than before.

Once again, many players are claiming innocence. And as much as you don't begrudge AFK players who simply exploit the PvP system and don't participate in the game, you have to doubt whether the bans were really justified. Even in the first wave of bans, some innocent people were banned, and just recently players were banned for using gamepad software that didn't violate the terms of service.

Of course, the fact that something like this is happening one day before the release of BC Classic is particularly piquant. However, as players confirm in the reddit post above and in other forum posts, the bans can be reversed for truly innocent players. Those who overdid it with the AFK PvP grind just before the Dark Portal opened will have to watch their friends and guildmates go wild in Outland for a week.
