Perhaps many of our WoW heroes today still think back to the times of Cataclysm, to the moments when disaster approached from the air. The villain of the fourth expansion to World of Warcraft was Deathwing, the former aspect of the earth Neltharion, who erupted from the depths of our planet and rained down his pain on us in the form of death and corruption. If Deathwing appeared in the skies of a region of our beautiful blue Azeroth, it didn't take long for him to leave a trail of devastation in his wake - and plenty of sizzled warriors to stand in his way. It was only in the Maelstrom itself that our heroes, with the support of the other Dragon Aspects, managed to rid Deathwing of his madness - for now.

You may think what you like about Deathwing's motives, but the unusual dragon certainly cuts an impressive and fearsome figure. And that brings us to the actual topic, because the artist team Ta & Coh from Korea personally selected Deathwing for their woodwork, and created the aspect's head completely out of wood. In the following time-lapse video you can convince yourself of the work effort.

Fascinatingly, Neltharion's wooden head doesn't come across as impressive at all at first, as it's just two pieces of wood glued together. However, it then quickly becomes clear that the first piece of the wooden dragon puzzle is far from reflecting the size of the head. Ta and Coh are turning and sanding and drilling for all they're worth to present you with an illuminated Deathwing at the end. Great!
