Patch 8.3 will be the last content update for WoW Battle for Azeroth. At least that's what the developers claimed a few months ago. The fact that patch 8.3.7 is now being played on the test servers does not change this statement. Because strictly speaking, patch 8.3.7 is not a content update. The developers at Blizzard announced that the patch will not contain any new features or other player content. Instead, some adjustments will be made, which will be relevant for the upcoming expansion Shadowlands.

Many of them could well come before the official release of Shadowlands on the live servers and must therefore also be tested with the current structure. For example, the level squish or the new starter experience Exil's Reach could well come before then. The revamped character creation could also be introduced beforehand. UPCOMING 8.3.7 PTR UPDATE
A new build will be coming to the Public Test Realm (PTR) this week and will only contain non-player facing changes that are required for Shadowlands. We wanted to provide an advance notice that there won't be any new features to be tested in this build.
